Design and Specification

 

Foundations

These are normally traditional concrete and engineering brick, but other types of foundation are available to suit the situation.

 

Structure

Walls and roofs are made from Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). SIPs are a composite building material, taking the form of a sandwich panel with two structural boards forming the external facings and an internal insulating foam core. The external facings are Oriented Strand Board and the internal foam core is high performance rigid polyurethane foam.

 

Floors are constructed with SIP timber floor beams.

 

Exterior walls

These are clad in Western Red Cedar which looks good and is naturally resistant to insect damage and decay. Other finishes are available to suit your design or budget including brick slips, traditional render or composite cladding in a variety of colours.

 

Interior walls and ceilings

Generally the walls are finished in 12.5mm plaster board with a skim finish but other options are available.

 

Doors and Windows

Our doors come in a range of styles, designs and colours in powder coated aluminium or engineered timber. Flooring You can choose your flooring from carpet tile, heavy duty vinyl or wood.

 

Other options

Our rooms are finished as standard with a fully certified electrical installation, but kitchenettes, toilets and other features can be added to suit specific requirements.
